For this week's reflection we read a text about athletes and the fame that comes with it. The question we had to answer was how the athletes from the 1920's compare to contemporary athletes.
We watched videos of MLK and Malcolm X's speeches. We learned some persuasive techniques and observed what they did well.
We also discussed what we learned from the jigsaw reading on women's suffrage. What we observed, what questions we had and how we felt about how women were treated back then.
I am proud of the work I did this week. All the work we did this week was really interesting, especially the readings about women's suffrage (even though we did that last week). I struggled with the reflection this week because it was shorter than the past ones so I wasn't sure what to write about. In the past, there was a lot to cover but this week, after filling half a page I wasn't really sure how to add more. In the end, I did add more but I don't think it was my best reflection. I think the jigsaw reading helped me look more deeply into texts.
I didn't work with a group this week.
Personal Goal: Look more deeply into the text we read.
