San Diego Hall of Champions Sports Museum:
On tuesday we went on a field trip to Balboa Park to go see the Hall of Champions museum. We had to write about the exhibits to get idea's for our own exhibition.
Sports Speech:
We had to use what we learned about persuasive speeches to write our own speech. We chose a sport event from history and put ourselves in the role of coach or captain giving a pep talk. I chose the time when Jesse Owen's won four gold medals in the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
Libertarianism Reading Log:
We read a text on Libertarianism this week and had to write a reading log for a socratic seminar. I learned that libertarianism is for the freedom of individuals.
I'm proud of the work I did this week because I was a bit apprehensive on writing a persuasive speech. I wasn't sure how to include pathos, ethos and logos and not make it sound cheesy. I don't think it's the best speech but I did it and I put a lot of time into it. A skill I acquired was how to be persuasive and how tone can affect how people react to what you're saying. I'm not that proud of the reading log. I always struggle with the reading log because I'm not sure how to connect and what questions are good, I think they're improving but it's not really there yet. I would put more time into both the speech and reading log if I could do this again.
Personal Goal: Put more thought into the work.
